Tips for Successful Facial Verification
At Paxos, we want to ensure the security and integrity of our customers’ identity and account. One way we do this is by partnering with our identity verification company, Jumio, which allows Paxos to automatically authenticate physical ID verification during our customers’ onboarding process.
While setting up your individual account, you will be prompted to complete your facial verification by taking a real-time selfie supplemented by your ID photo. In the case your selfie may not be recognized (i.e. you are prompted to re-try the verification), we have compiled a list of best practices to help successfully complete this onboarding step.
Set Up Good Lighting
It is important to ensure good lighting is present at the time of ID scan and the facial verification process as your selfie and ID will be visible while suppressing any background in closed and open spaces. We suggest you make your surroundings well-lit, and if possible, place any light source in front of you to avoid any shadows.
Use an Alternative Browser
We suggest using a different browser if the facial verification fails. For example, Google Chrome and Safari (for Apple devices) are the most commonly used browsers and may help in mitigating this error. Simply visit the Paxos login page, enter your credentials, and attempt the selfie again. Please note, In order to login and use the Paxos site, you must enable third party cookies for your browser. You can edit your browser settings to allow for third party cookies.
Use a Different Device
If an alternative browser does not help, we recommend using a different device such as a phone, laptop, or laptop either in combination with the above step or separately. A different device can also help in the case the verification failed due to poor camera resolution. Therefore, please ensure you have a suitable webcam or camera equivalent on all the devices from which you are attempting facial verification.

In the event that the above steps do not help, please contact Paxos through this portal. Please raise a ticket if you are unable to complete verification after three failed attempts. We will work with you to complete this requirement and have you onboard with us!
